Dr. Debbie Gross Saunders, DPT, MSPT, OCS, CCRP

(Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner)
Get on the Ball Two DVD,
Osteoarthritis and Your Dog DVD

Dr. Debbie Saunders has been working with small animals for over sixteen years and has had her own business for over seven years. (Wizard of Paws) She has been teaching continuing education courses in the field for over ten years in the United States and internationally. She remains intricately involved in the Canine Certificate program in canine physical rehabilitation through the University of Tennessee. Dr. Saunders was also the first female in the country to become a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner through the University of Tennessee.

One of her loves is working with and returning performance dogs to their activity. She has spent years analyzing the movement and gaits of thousands of dogs performing a variety of movement and has applied the knowledge to the treatment and identification of actual and potential problems. Many top dog handlers and professionals have sought her out for evaluations of their dogs. She continues to lecture to agility and canine athletic groups on injury prevention, movement, and identification of injuries. Contact her direct, for information on her Get on the Ball seminars.

Debbie began her physical therapy career with a Bachelor's of Science degree in physical therapy from Boston University. It was actually during her physical therapy education that she began to think about and combine her love for animals with the principles of physical therapy. Some of her professors even laughed at the idea of performing joint mobilizations on animals - little did they know! However, it was not until she continued on in the 'human' field of physical therapy that she seriously followed through with the combination of the fields.

She earned a Master of Science degree from Quinnipiac College in Orthopedic Physical Therapy with distinction and became board certified in orthopedic physical therapy from the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. These accomplishments in the human field only assisted in the carryover in the small animal world of rehabilitation. She recently received her doctorate degree from the University of Tennessee.

Joyce Goodman

FitBALL® Spokesperson for Active Aging

Having danced and exercised for most of her 70+ years, Joyce understands the true benefits that this activity can bring to overall health and well being. Observing the injuries that traditional dance and exercise can bring, Joyce felt she needed to seek out new and unique ways to achieve the benefits without the hazardous side effects.

In the 70's and 80's Joyce became an early pioneer in rebounding exercises. She manufactured her own mini-trampoline - determined to make it offer more physiological benefits than those available on the market. Obtaining a patent, she taught rebounding with her specialized equipment nationally and internationally.

Joyce's sincere caring for the well being for those around her has also been a driving force behind her research and work. In the 1990's Joyce's mother entered a care facility for five years. While visiting her mother at the facility Joyce realized how her knowledge could improve the health of the chair-bound seniors who were simply deteriorating due to their lack of movement and exercise. Her program for seniors was so successful it was implemented in many long-term care facilities throughout Southern California.

Now here she is, decades later, delighted to still be creating, dancing and loving every minute of it. After losing her son to the ravages of diabetes and heart disease at 44, she became even more determined to find yet another way to share vital information on how to regain and maintain health. She created her 'Bounce Your Way to Better Health' program. Everything that she learned from her bouncing on trampolines has come full circle. Utilizing large exercise balls (the FitBALL®), Joyce created a unique, high energy music driven, aerobic exercise program. She produced a DVD that not only extols the benefits of bouncing but combines it with vital information about the importance of a low-glycemic food program and the importance of nutritional supplementation.

Joyce is dedicated to sharing her life-long experience and message of health and wellness across the nation. She is currently a FitBALL® Spokesperson for Active Aging.
